TERMINOLOGY CLARIFICATIONS


Synonymous with Recovery:

“The act of restoration to an improved or former condition.” (NRC, 1992)

Sear (1994) explores various definition of restoration and related terms including recovery but I offer it as a choice for a definition of restoration because people often refer to projects as restoration projects that are essentially what is defined above.
